Is praying important?

Is there a wrong way to pray?

Then what prevents you from volunteering to pray?

We don’t know what to say.

We don't want to mess up.

We don't want to be embarrassed.

If praying is such a crucial part of our faith yet we hardly take time to pray in service, in Bible studies, and in our daily lives.

Big Idea: We will not be good at something that we don't practice. So practice praying often.

** Attempt to pray in silence for 3mins and see if you can clear your mind and give your heart to God***

Ways to practice praying:

  • Practice by having a conversation with God.

  • Practice by writing down your prayers.

  • Practice by following a template or a prompt.

  • Practice prayers that are common to you or memorized.

****

Ideas discussed from the video:

  • If you don't have a prayer relationship in secret, don't think you are accomplishing anything in public.

  • You don't just want something from him(God), you want to be with him.

  • Relational communication with God draws heaven into history, eternity into time and the mechanism that God has established is prayer.

  • Prayer is not an informational session to inform God.Because, as verse 8 says, God knows our needs.

  • I know what you want to talk about, I just want to know if you want to talk to me(God) about it

  • Knowing does not mean he(God) will act on it.

  • Do you want me(God) or just the meeting of the need?
